About The Author
D. Sauls is a first-time Haitian- American author with her first publication, "Beaten: The Monster Who Loved Me?" aspiring to be a bestselling author with Xlibris Publishing. Her book is inspired by her own personal experiences of being a domestic violence victim to a survivor. She has obtained her bachelor's in Social Work from Rutgers University. It's no surprise that her choice in major was influenced by her trauma and desire to help those in need.
In this autobiography, the author recounts her journey as young girl being infatuated with a young man whom she deemed as her protector. He scared away her bullies, had a sense of humor that kept her distracted, and fulfilled her fantasy of being with her childhood crush. However, she never imagined that this love affair would lead to her demise and facing near-death occurrences. The duration of the abuse went on for years until nothing but the fate of God creating the circumstances which lead to her escaping the hands of "the monster who loved her."
She wants her readers to know that you're not alone and there's a light at the end of that dark tunnel. So many of us have gone through abuse and survived, unfortunately so many haven't lived to tell their story. She wants her book to be that guidance that can lead victims away from the dangers of abuse or providing the courage that many don't know are in them to finally leave.
