Frequently Ask Questions
Q: What made you decide to write this book?
Covid19 has been by far one of the worst pandemics we've ever experienced. Unfortunately bringing to the forefront the increasing dangers of domestic violence. Ironically it has also been a time for us to pause and appreciate the things we take for granted like life and family. That pause helped me to reflect on my blessings of being alive, surviving domestic violence, surviving a pandemic and the need to tell my story. Hence the deciding factor of me writing my book.
Q: Was writing this book very difficult and emotional for you?
In writing this book my emotions were all over the place. It was very hard for me to relive my past occurrences of such trauma. However I was pretty fortunate to have found the peace I needed to write. Having the best sister/cousin in the world who not only provided that space for me to write but the push I needed to tell my story.
Q: What do want your readers to take away from reading this book?
What I want my readers to know is that people can only do what you allow them to do. It's so important that we educate our youths to always loves themselves, but most important the signs of the presence of evil and how to guard themselves from it. Domestic Violence is never okay and from my personal experience, I can tell you it doesn't get better. There's always a light out of that dark tunnel and just trust in God to guide you out. This too shall pass.
